Begin jaren 70 was Gordon Lightfoot een van mijn favoriete singer-songwriters. Ik had een aantal LP’s van hem waaronder “Sunday Concert” uit 1969. Een aantal nummers van die LP stonden steevast op het repertoire van de groepen waar ik in speelde.
In het najaar van 2021 gingen Rens van der Zalm en ik weer naar studio Teclats van Ton Snijders en namen een nieuwe versie op van “Leaves of Grass”. De tekst heeft nog niets aan betekenis verloren
